30 November 2022 Dear Diocesan Family

Confirmations – Thank you

Bishop Steve would like to thank the clergy and lay people in our parishes for all the preparations they did for the Confirmation Services. Thank you to the young people who have offered and committed themselves to serving God. He looks forward to building the Kingdom of God with you.

Congratulations

  • Bishop Steve has appointed the Deputy Chancellor, Adv Itumeleng Phalane to the office of Chancellor of the Diocese with immediate effect and Adv Bongani Manentsa to that of Deputy Chancellor.

We congratulate them on their new roles and look forward to the benefit of their presence and wisdom among us.

  • We congratulate Revd Sibonelo Mkhabela who is getting married this coming weekend to Miss Palesa Matomela.  Revd Johannes and Mrs Maphefo Makinta will also be celebrating their union on the 10th December 2022.

May God bless these two couples with a beautiful life and an endless love story.

  • Congratulations to Revd Dr Karen Uitzinger and Revd Dr Dorcas Mabitsela who have both achieved their doctoral degrees in theology.
  • Happy 40th Anniversary (Birthday) of the Anglicare ministry in the Diocese. Their theme was: ’40 years of listening.’ Bishop Timothy Bavin planted the seed of this ministry. The ministry is growing very well and is touching the lives of many people in our Diocese, especially, post Covid.
